Cooperative Improvement District Formed
May 10 - Double Springs All five Winston County cities and Commission decided to form a Cooperative Improvement District, and collectively fund the purchase of property in southwest Winston County for a planned industrial park. Plans are to purchase a 700 acre tract, possibly more, 4 miles north of I-22 next to Alabama Highway 13. This land will become a regional industrial park with plans to market it to prospective new industry.
